Check-In Information

Early Check in for Grand Cayman

Passengers traveling on Cayman Airways have the option of check in the day prior to the flight at the Owen Roberts Airport and the Cayman Airways Cargo Office. Early check-in is available 5-7pm every evening at the Cayman Airways Cargo Import Office located in the headquarters building and also at the Owen Roberts Airport from 7-9pm.

Passengers traveling without any checked baggage can go straight to the security checkpoint the following day, however, passengers needing to check luggage will be required to drop it off at the 'Fast Bag' drop off, located at the Cayman Airways Airport Ticket desk.


Passengers Requiring Assistance

In order to make sure that any special requirements you may have are met, please let us know at least 24 hours before your flight if we can be of any special assistance.


Service Animals

Service animals are welcome aboard all Cayman Airways flights. Please let us know 24 hours prior to your flight so that we may make any special arrangements necessary to ensure a pleasant flight for you and your animal. Please have the animal's identification card, tags, and harness markings available.


Entry Requirements

Visitors are required to present a valid passport, subject to length of stay and possession of an onward/return ticket. Nationals of the US, UK or Commonwealth countries, European Union countries, Japan and certain other countries do not require visas. A US visa is normally required for travel via the US, although special in-transit arrangements can be made. It is always wise to double check entry requirements with your travel agent.


Documentation

Custom and Immigration forms are required at each destination served by Cayman Airways. These are normally put in your ticket folder when you check in. Flight attendants will check with you during the flight to ensure that you have been given the necessary forms and will be happy to assist you in completing these before landing. Having your forms properly filled in before landing can save you a lot of time and bother.


No Smoking

All flights are non-smoking. Lavatories are equipped with smoke detectors and these should not be tampered with.


Dining

Please call Cayman Airways at least 24 hours before your flight if you have any special dietary requests/needs. Please note: Cayman Airways does NOT offer kosher meals except on flights FROM New York and FROM Chicago.


Baggage

We want to make sure your baggage is returned to you in the order in which it was received. Please help us provide the best possible service by following these guidelines:


  • Make sure all checked baggage has your name on a label on the outside. We will provide free labels to you at all Cayman Airways airport locations. Also, please ensure that you place identification (name, address, telephone number) inside your luggage.
  • Never place money, cameras, binoculars, fragile items or valuables such as jewelry in luggage you plan to check.
  • Always carry medicines, keys, passports or other valuable papers in your hand luggage.
  • Choose bags that will properly protect the contents and withstand normal handling.
  • Avoid over packing. Due to airport security regulations, please refrain from locking your baggage.
  • You may carry portable devices such as CD players, MP3 Players, and Laptops, etc. but please do not play radios in flight since their frequency may interfere with navigation instruments.
  • Carry-on items are restricted to those which can bestowed under a passenger seat or in an approved overhead compartment.
  • Care should be taken in stowing any item overhead to prevent objects from falling when the compartments are opened.
  • Very heavy hand luggage placed under a passenger seat will ensure a safe cabin environment for you.
Cayman Airways Baggage Allowances & Charges

  • CHECKED BAGGAGE
    • Business Class – you can check three bags per passenger free of charge
    • Coach/Economy Class – you can check two bags per passenger free of charge
  • Each bag MUST
    • Weigh 55 pounds or less (25 Kilograms)
    • Not exceed 62 inches, when you total the length plus width plus height
  • CARRY ON BAGGAGE
    • You can carry on one bag per passenger free of charge.
    • Must weigh 40 pounds or less (18kilograms)
    • Not to exceed 45 inches when you total the length plus width plus height
    • Must be able to fit in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you
      • (certain other personal items may also be permitted)

  • When traveling to Cayman Brac or Little Cayman via the Twin Otter Service; Baggage allowance is 55 lbs per person and only one 15 lb carry-on, any excess will be charged $.50 US per pound.
