CAL: A million air miles for Sea Swim

Participants in this year’s Flowers Sea Swim stand the chance of winning certificates for free upgrades to business class on Cayman Airways (CAL).

“Cayman Airways has been supporting the Flowers Sea Swim since it began 17 years ago,” said CAL CEO Designate Olson Anderson. “This year, for the first time, select participants will walk away with certificates for free upgrades to business class on our jet service.”

Mr. Anderson said one in 10 participants will receive an upgrade certificate in their registration packs for the Sea Swim. These certificates can be redeemed when the lucky participants book their next flight on Cayman Airways to Miami, Tampa or Jamaica. He said that more than 700,000 air miles in upgrade certificates will be randomly distributed to about 70 swimmers.

Some 120,000 air miles were also allocated to assist the visiting celebrity swimmers travelling on Cayman Airways for the event. Those celebrities include: Ryan Lochte; Anthony Nesty; Kristina (“Kristy”) Ann Kowal; Ian Crocker; and Neil Walker. Cayman Airways also offered a 10% discount on its flights from New York, Miami and Tampa for visiting participants.

Additionally, Cayman Airways is donating 200,000 air miles directly to the events’ benefactor, the Sunrise Adult Training Center.

“Cayman Airways applauds the organizers of this event for giving all proceeds of the Sea Swim to the Sunrise Adult Training Center, and we likewise will be giving the center these additional air miles to help offset the travel costs of their annual programs,” Mr. Anderson said. “The airline’s total contribution is more than a million air miles, and we are proud to be part of this tremendous charitable, community-building event.”

Race Founder Frank Flowers commented: “Cayman Airways has been with the Flowers Sea Swim since the beginning. Their contribution has been integral to the strong evolution of this event. We applaud Cayman Air’s community spirit and are honored to have their continued support.”
